Children's Beehive

The Children's Beehive offers a fun, imaginative, creative and educational childcare program in a home environment located in Cold Lake North ( a couple of blocks from the beach). The Children's Beehive accepts up to a maximum number of 6 children who are between the ages of 11 months to 6 years of age and up to 12 years of age during the summer months of July and August.

The program at The Children's Beehive is especially designed to
-foster cognitive development and speech and language development
-develop and strengthen fine and gross motor skills
-teach practical life skills and foster independence
-instill confidence, kindness, and grace and courtesy
-allow children to learn by doing, using all their senses to explore the world
-help joyfully instill social skills and cooperation

Qualifications of Child Care Provider:
-Early Learning Child Care Certificate
-Alberta Child Development Worker Certificate (Level 2)
-Montessori Teaching Diploma
-First Aid and CPR Certified
-Criminal Record Check and Child Welfare Check Completed
-Food Handling Certficate
-Over 17 years experience working with children
-Experience working with children with special needs (ADHD, ODD, ADHD & Conduct Disorder, Autism ; as well as with children with learning issues (speech/comprehension/reading.)

Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday
7:00 am - 5:30 pm
(Willing to open at 6:30 am and stay open until 6:00 pm for parents who NEED it due to work- please inquiry)
CLOSED on ALL Statutory and Federal Holidays

A calendar will be given to parents upon enrollment.

Meals and Snacks- All meals and snacks are provided. (allergy aware family day home - meaning nuts may be served at lunch or snacks or be included in recipes that are served to the children.

There are also pets on the premises. Two cats and two dogs (cocker spaniels) who stay in the lower level of the home (3rd and 4th level) when The Children's Beehive is in sessions.
-There is a fenced in backyard.
-Nursery for children who are under 19 months of age to sleep in who still require a morning and afternoon nap.
-Children who sleep in the nursery, sleep in a crib (there are only two cribs), and the other children who require a afternoon nap only, sleep on a daycare cot on the main level of the home where the play area/classroom area is located.
-Play room/classroom area.

Tax receipts are given out to parents between December - February of each year.
