Bursary

Corpus Christi CWL is offering a bursary for the 2024-25 school year for female parishioners who graduated high school in 2023 or 2024.

Questions and Answers:

1. Is the bursary open to both young men and young women?
 

The bursary is open to young women.

2. Do I have to have attended Catholic Schools?
 

No. The purpose of the bursary is to assist parishioners in pursuit of post secondary education at an accredited institution in Canada or the USA.

3. Should I be a member of Corpus Christi parish?
 

Yes. If your family lives elsewhere and you are over 18 years and have moved to this parish, you should register to be eligible. Students under the age of 18 years are eligible if parents and/or grandparents are members of Corpus Christi Parish.

4. What kinds of post secondary programs are eligible?
 

Technical programs such as offered by SAIT, vocational programs such as offered by junior colleges including Olds College, Lethbridge Community College, etc. and any university program. Vocational training as offered by accredited beauty schools are also eligible.

5. When is the application deadline?
 

Send your application by May 31 of the year before you start your studies.

6. I graduated last year and have been working to save money to attend college. Am I eligible?
 

Yes, one gap year is permissible.

7. I am in second year of my post secondary program. Am I eligible?
 

The bursary is only open to first year students, so students in subsequent years are not eligible.
