It is natural for children to have disagreements or arguments at times. However, when children fight, the risk is that someone will be hurt. If not dealt with early, fighting and aggression can get worse. Children may not learn better ways of behaving without help from their parents. This discussion group will give some suggestions to help you teach your child to solve problems and get along with others. Childcare may be available. Please register at least 3 days in advance if you require childcare.

Community Connections is a program in partnership with the Dove Centre. We meet the last Tuesday of each month to provide innovative learnings, activities and outings that we believe will provide joy and personal growth for anyone wishing to attend. From January to June, we are reaching out to community members to join us each month to share a talent or skill with those who attend. This program will have events in different locations throughout the community. Please contact FCSS for monthly details. 780-594-4495.

We use LEGO™ play as a venue for children to practice positive social skills in a group setting. As LEGO™ play tends to be a solitary activity, having a group engaged in LEGO™ activities presents opportunities for children to practice social skills. To encourage positive peer interaction and kindness, we use Carol McCloud’s philosophy of “Bucket Filling”.
