The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 invites applications for the position of Lift Technician. This position is responsible for supporting the Kinosoo Operations Coordinator with the effective and efficient maintenance of the fixed grip chair lifts located at Kinosoo Ridge Resort to maximize the guest and employee experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Subject matter expert with lifts, carpets, and aerial park maintenance and general outdoor operations.
• Assist in snowmaking and grooming.
• Actively involved in preventive and required maintenance for lifts and lift maintenance to ensure safe uninterrupted operation.
• Maintenance of grounds and building.
• Machinery and equipment installation, preventative maintenance, service, repair and overhaul, (weekly/monthly/annual) on all mechanical system such as vehicle, building, water and septic.
• Installing and adjusting machinery and equipment, rigging, leveling and aligning, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.
• Adhere to assembly, maintenance, and installation as per manufacture manuals and specifications.
• Maintain records of work completed as per related codes, legislation, and M.D. Policy.
• Familiarity with conveyer systems, industrial and stationary engines, pumps, belts, chains, gears, clutches, coupling, cable rope, and compressors are all assets.
• Operate M.D. equipment safely, efficiently, and effectively.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Report all lift maintenance related activities as required.
• Ensure work area(s) are kept safe and clean, report any damage, malfunction, or misuse of any company equipment and/or property.
• Assist other departments with general maintenance needs, where required.
• Assist in emergencies.
• Assist with lift and ariel park opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with the training of lift operators and aerial park staff, where required.
• Perform other related duties within the scope of the position.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in the current CSA Z98 Code and a working knowledge of OH & S regulations is required.
• Knowledge of PLC electrical systems and components.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics and low voltage control.
• Building maintenance, carpentry and electrical knowledge/experience is an asset.
• Ability to operate snow mobiles, ATV’s and 4 x 4 trucks in a safe and responsible manner.
• Strong management and organization skills.
• Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, mature, dependable, and able to work well with others in a team environment.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation of payroll for the Municipal District of Bonnyville, Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority and Bonnyville & District Centennial Centre including all necessary reporting and documentation to ensure compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Gather, track and review time records of employees for accuracy and proper categorization including project/equipment usage costing.
• Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, as well as monthly payroll for Council.
• Adhere to deadlines in accordance with payroll policies, procedures, and legislation.
• Ensure staff records and supporting documents pertaining to new hires, terminations and changes are accurate and in accordance with payroll compliance, legislation, and collective agreements.
• Ensure accuracy of the payroll system and records for individual employees and make necessary changes.
• Maintain confidential information by adhering to legal and ethical standards.
• Ensure accuracy of accruals.
• Issue Records of Employment and assist with the preparation of T4’s and T4-A’s.
• Assist in the preparation and application of accounting standards to all financial matters such as reconciliations of payroll GLs, remittances and adjusting journal entries.
• Reconcile payroll reports and ensure applicable remittances are created.
• Perform other related duties within the scope of the position.

Qualifications:

• Completion of National Payroll Institute Payroll Compliance Professional Designation and be a member in good standing.
• Must adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct as set out by the National Payroll Institute/Payroll Standards Canada
• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience within a complex payroll environment.
• A minimum of two (2) years experience in accounting and how it relates to payroll.
• Thorough knowledge of payroll compliance, legislation, and Alberta Employment Standard.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced strict deadline driven environment.
• Ability to work within a team.
• Excellent inter-personal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Avanti software will be a asset.
