Hiring - Warehouse/Forklift Operator
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Warehouse/Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating equipment, to efficiently manage inventory and support warehouse distribution operations. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to safety and detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Warehouse/Forklift Operator plays a crucial part in maintaining smooth warehouse functions and ensuring accurate order picking and inventory management.
Duties
- Safely operate forklift/skidsteer, to move materials within the warehouse
- Load and unload goods from trucks and storage areas with precision and care
- Assist with order picking processes using warehouse management systems to fulfill customer orders accurately
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and perform basic maintenance or report issues promptly
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment problems when necessary
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely, handling materials up to specified weight limits
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and update warehouse management systems accordingly
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing products for shipment or storage, cleaning yard and warehouse on a regular basis
- Help strap down loads once they have been put on trailers
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklift
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and maintenance
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems for order picking and inventory control would be an asset
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and measurements
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads safely and stand for extended periods during shifts
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to warehouse/forklift operation and warehouse procedures
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or logistics is preferred but not required
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations, including order picking processes
- Class 5 driver's license is required
- English is required

Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight to designated locations

- Assist with loading and securing freight, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Load and unload cargo using forklifts/skid steers and heavy equipment as needed

Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record (Driver's Abstract Required), 5+ years of experience
- H2S, First Aid, CSO, CSTS required
- Clean Drug and Alcohol Test
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts/skid steers and other industrial machinery is required
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards in transportation
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently, including automotive repair skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation and safety checks
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks related to freight handling
- Ability to work independently, follow directions accurately, and adhere to schedules
- English is required

Qualifications

- 1+ years’ experience in an industrial environment on pressure and vacuum equipment is preferred
- CSO and H2S Alive certifications are required at time of offer
- Able to provide a drivers abstract with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years
- This role may require working at heights and within confined spaces
- Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test, booked by CEDA

The position will report to the appropriate supervisor, the Heavy Haul Driver will be responsible for pre-operational inspections, prepare for a safe load movement and transport equipment on trailers up to 112 wheels to meet the specialized transport needs of customers while adhering to safety and transportation regulations. Workloads and schedules may vary.
Responsibilities:
- Read and understand transport plan beforehand in order to know whether it is free from obstacles and accessible.
- Assemble, configure and dissemble of Tractor Trailer.
- Visually inspect all systems on a regular basis and prior to each movement to ensure compliance with appropriate Standards, Codes, Specifications and Procedures.
- Assure all transports are within load limits of equipment and correctly secured.
- Pilot over dimensional loads.
- Operate the trailers in simple and complex transports according to job requirements.
- Attend toolbox meetings in a constructive and contributing manner.
- Carry out any other prevalent activities which can be reasonably demanded and/or which are necessary in the company’s interest.
- Possess a minimum of 1-3 years previous experience hauling all types of equipment including Trailers and Hydraulic Platform Trailers (Jeep/Lowboy makes preferred) and winch trucks.
- Previous experience working with hydraulic systems and components is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license & must provide commercial driver’s abstract.
- Safety Certifications including H2S, CSTS, Fall Protection and First Aid, CSO
