*Follow all company, client and regulatory OH&S requirements including safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions. Participate in job planning/tailboards, safety meetings, worksite inspections and participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.

*Oversee daily operations including planning, scheduling for the install, maintenance and repair of electrical distribution systems including overhead and underground power lines and cables, erection of pole systems, insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers, street lighting and other associated equipment, including termination.

*Participate in pre‑bid walk downs, and post‑award field visits to assess site conditions, access constraints, material requirements, and constructability.

*Review drawings, specifications, switching orders, system maps and client documents to validate constructability and installation approach.

CEDA is currently seeking 4 Journeyman Pipefitters for our Mechanical Division based out of bonnyville. This position is for camp work, so the candidate can reside outside of Bonnyville, but must have reliable transportation to site.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Install new mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, air dryers, converters, heat exchangers, relief valves, pressure-reducing valves, condensate tanks, recirculation pumps, booster pumps, pneumatic controls, coils, isolation valves, 3-way valves, condensate traps)
• Fit up and prepare piping requiring welded joints
• Liaise and collaborate with other trades, consultants and suppliers
• Cleans condensate traps and equipment strainers
• Provides occasional guidance to the primary function of others, including training.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
• Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
• Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
• Thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
• Test system for leaks using testing equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications:

• Journeyman Pipefitter/Steamfitter (Red Seal preferred) required
• Standard first Aid, H2S, CSO, ESC Confined Space entry, ESC Fall Protection
• Receptive to change and can adapt to changing circumstances
• Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test, booked by CEDA

Transportation Supervisor

Position Summary:
The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership, planning, and oversight of the Town’s transportation and landfill operations. This role ensures the effective delivery of maintenance programs, including road patching, sidewalk replacement, and curb and gutter rehabilitation. The Supervisor manages operational budgets, provides input into capital planning, and ensures all work is completed in alignment with municipal standards, safety requirements, and regulatory obligations. This position also oversees operations at the Town’s Class III landfill, ensuring compliance with environmental and operational regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision

• Provide daily leadership, guidance, and mentorship to transportation and landfill staff.
• Foster a positive, safety‑focused workplace culture by leading through example.
• Conduct performance evaluations, support staff development, and participate in recruitment processes.
• Coordinate work schedules, assignments, and resource allocation to ensure efficient operations.

Operational Management

• Oversee maintenance programs including:
• Road patching and pavement preservation.
• Sidewalk replacement and repair.
• Curb and gutter maintenance.
• Monitor and manage the department’s operating budget, ensuring cost‑effective use of resources.
• Provide technical input and recommendations for capital projects and long‑term infrastructure planning.
• Ensure timely completion of work orders, inspections, and service requests.

Landfill Operations

• Supervise daily operations at the Town’s Class III landfill.
• Ensure compliance with provincial regulations, municipal bylaws, and environmental standards.
• Oversee waste handling, site maintenance, record‑keeping, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, regulators, and internal departments as needed.

Safety & Compliance

• Demonstrate and enforce strict adherence to the Town’s Safety Program.
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation.
• Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and hazard assessments.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure staff are properly trained and equipped.

Municipal Coordination

• Collaborate with other municipal departments to support integrated service delivery.
• Provide input into municipal planning processes, budgets, and operational strategies.
• Respond to public inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in municipal public works, transportation, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of municipal operations, organizational structure, and service delivery.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation and municipal safety programs.
• Experience with road maintenance, infrastructure rehabilitation, and landfill operations.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and support staff.
• Effective communication, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (Class 3 or higher considered an asset).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., landfill operations, safety training, supervisory courses) are considered an asset.

Working Conditions

• Combination of office and field work in varying weather conditions.
• Participation in on‑call rotation or after‑hours response as required.
• Use of municipal vehicles, equipment, and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Operate a 45-ton Boom Truck and associated equipment in a safe, responsible, and professional manner.
• Working with and mentoring swampers.
• Operates unit and associated equipment in a safe, responsible, and professional manner.
• Perform pre-operational inspections including hazard assessments, calculating crane capabilities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting.
• Operate the Picker to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials.
• Follows and complies with all internal policies & procedures.
• Participates in pre-job hazard assessments & inspections prior to commencing any job.
• Responsible for loading equipment and properly securing loads in a manner that ensures compliance with weight restrictions and government regulations.
• To complete all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, while following all federal hours of service regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Position Specifics:

• Steamer Truck Operators: Require a minimum Class 5 license with an Air Brake (Q) endorsement.
• Vac Truck Operators: Require a minimum Class 3 license.
• Class 1 Semi Vac Operators: Require a valid Class 1 license.

Responsibilities:

• Safely drive and operate Class 1, 3, or 5 vehicles to transport fluid to and from various locations.
• Operate and monitor various pumps.
• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and accurately complete all required paperwork.
• Perform rig-in and rig-out of all equipment for travel.
• Chain up vehicles as required by road and weather conditions.

Requirements:

• Possess the minimum driver's license class required for your specific role (Class 5 with Air Brakes, Class 3, or Class 1).
• Provide a current 5-year commercial driver’s abstract.
