POSITION: Field Foreman
START DATE: ASAP
PROJECT LOCATION: NE Alberta
SHIFT: 21-7 / 14-7
Responsibilities:

• Supervise, direct, manage, and mentor equipment operators, labourers, mechanic, sub-contractors in a variety of ice road construction and labourer activities
• Ensure and enforce compliance to all company, client and legislated safety policies and procedures
• Assist project managers in estimating, creating schedules, ordering materials, and preparing multiple sites
• Maintains records of materials, equipment and manpower assigned to projects
• Must ensure that crew completes equipment inspections and maintenance daily
• Conduct daily toolbox meeting and all safety requirements as per Heart Lakes health and safety program
• Maintaining an exceptional standard of professionalism, respect, and communication on site for everyone involved, and managing conflict as it arises
• Review safe work plans/ hazard assessment with crew prior to job commencement
• Inspect work site before, during and at end of shift
• Complete daily time tickets, progress reports, and future construction activities
• Problem solve through coordination with management
• Ability to look ahead and pro-actively identify issues
• Perform any related and/or additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• MUST have 3 years civil earthworks supervisory experience - including but not limited to the building of roads, leases, ice roads, erosion control and other civil development projects.
• Ice road and winter experience
• GPS Grading Equipment Experience (Top – Con etc)
• MUST be able to pass a Pre-Access Drug & Alcohol test and adhere to Drug & Alcohol
• Willingness to adapt to job shift changes
• Able to competently operate equipment in a safe, efficient manner
• Knowledge of workplace safety and procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft word and excel for daily time tickets, and daily foreman reports
• Reliable and Responsible

Preference will be given to those with the following VALID SAFETY CERTIFICATES:

• CSTS2020
• WHMIS2015
• 1st aid

POSITION: Dozer Operator
PROJECT LOCATION: Northern / Eastern Alberta
SHIFT: 14-7 (camp may be provided)
Responsibilities:

• Competent in the operation of HLC equipment according to company procedures including daily maintenance (fuel, grease, clean tracks, change attachments and maintain fluid levels)
• Completion of equipment checklists and ensuring proper documentation is in place prior to use of the equipment.
• Operators MUST have good written and verbal English skills, be able to hear instructions and see work activities/hazards. This is physical, outdoor work in a potentially dusty / noisy environment.
• May/will be required to perform laborer duties if/when necessary or as deemed by site supervisor.

Qualifications:
Previous knowledge and experience in civil works construction

• MUST be able to pass a Pre-Access Drug & Alcohol test and adhere to Drug & Alcohol Policy throughout employment
• Has exemplary attendance and a willingness to adapt to job shift changes
• Able to competently operate equipment in a safe, efficient manner
• Knowledge of workplace safety and procedures.

CEDA has an immediate opening for an Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic for our shop in Conklin AB.

We’re a small team, you’ll get to know the people as well as you know the equipment. The variety of interesting equipment with specialty components combined with the tools needed to do great work are a few reasons our shop team loves working here.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preventative maintenance on Vacuum trucks, Combos, Water Trucks, Tankers, Skid-steers and Pressure Trucks
• Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems and pumps
• Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts
• Interpret work orders
• Occasionally attend service calls in the field
• Work alongside Journeyman to learn and develop your skills
• Attend daily tool-box and safety meetings as scheduled
• Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications:

• Registered Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician or higher required
• Valid class 5 Driver’s licence required (non GDL) clean 5 year abstract
• Class 1 or 3 licence considered an asset
• Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an asset
• Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Able to provide your own tools

Skills:
