First Flights is currently recruiting for 5 full time term summer students to fill the role of Child Care Workers. This is a summer student program, running for a 3 - month term from June 1, 2024 to August 31, 2024 (start and end dates may be flexible).

These positions will support all of our child care programs operating within the 4 Wing Military Family Resource Centre Society including Out of School Care/Summer Care, Preschool, Daycare, and After Hours Care. Under the direction of the Child Care Coordinator, the successful candidate will monitor children in a safe, pleasant, and supportive environment. He/she promotes an atmosphere of courtesy, good manners, sharing, and cooperation by being a good role model for the children.

• Knowledge, understanding or experience with children with behavioral needs.
• Guide children in their play while effectively communicating tolerance, patience, and understanding.
• Establish and continually maintain reciprocal relationships with children and families.

• Ensure licensing regulations and organizational standards are consistently followed.

To be successful in this position you should possess:

• Current Child Welfare Intervention Record Check.
• Current Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
• Current CPR and Basic First Aid
• Proficiency in French is considered an asset
