Position Description:

• We are seeking a motivated individual with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in design, approval and project management for civil and municipal engineering works.
• Provide experienced engineering and technical support to assist in successful project delivery.
• Utilize experience with project management, engineering design and approval of civil engineering works associated with municipal projects.
• Use Project Management methodology to ensure a high level of client satisfaction with SE Design’s consulting services.
• Anticipate client’s questions or concerns and keep ahead of any impact to a client’s project to ensure on time delivery and client satisfaction.
• Effectually communicate technical terms and specifications to non-technical client audiences.

Position Duties:

• Responsible for the design and approval of civil engineering works (grading, stormwater management, underground utilities, and surface improvements) associated with municipal projects according to Provincial and Municipal standards.
• Review and investigate preliminary engineering options during project planning process.
• Undertake asset management planning initiatives and infrastructure assessments to assist with capital improvement plans.
• Preparation of cost estimates, tender contract documents and project reports.
• Utilize Microsoft Office, Bluebeam and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D for the review of engineering designs.
• Oversee the preparation of documentation and reporting developed by the technical team, to ensure accuracy of deliverables according to project requirements and effective client communication.
• Engage in business and client management, including maintaining client relationships and developing proposals.
• Manage financial activities of the project, including accurate billing, transparent client communication, revenue tracking, invoice issuance, and receivable management.
• Coordinate staff and sub-consultants for planning, legal survey, geotechnical, environmental, and other consultant services.
• Provide leadership and mentoring of SE Design’s team of technical and professional staff.
• Conduct site visits and client meetings, as required.
• Facilitate team meetings to foster efficient, effective, and timely project delivery to ensure that client satisfaction is achieved.
• Participate in the implementation and maintenance of SE Design’s safety program and COR certification.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or Environmental Engineering program.
• A minimum of 15 years’ experience with the design, approval and project management of civil engineering works within Canada.
• P. Eng. status suitable for registration with APEGA.
• Proven ability to oversee a business segment, work in a variety of client settings and successfully develop a team of technical and professional staff.
• Are familiar with provincial and municipal standards for civil works including current design standards and technical specifications.
• Strong project management and coordination skills.
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License with a minimum of 4 years verified Canadian driving experience.
• Experience with oversight and management of geotechnical engineering activities would be considered an asset.
• Excellent communication skills, including teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Positive work ethic and adaptability to a variety of projects.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office and typical engineering software.
• Experience managing and mentoring project staff.

Position Description:
We are seeking a motivated individual who has a minimum of 5-10 years’ experience providing geomatics services for civil engineering works associated with subdivision and municipal projects.

Position Duties:

• Conduct drafting and calculations for construction surveys, such as preliminary topographic surveys, record plan survey, utility staking, and road construction staking.
• Conduct pile and construction grid line layout.
• Review and interpret plans and specifications for construction and legal survey projects.
• Carry out quality assurance/control tasks for construction projects. Handle general office responsibilities, data management, and survey drafting duties.
• Previous experience with Trimble Business Center, Microsurvey and Civil 3D would be beneficial.
• Having prior experience in a legal surveying environment, including evidence assessment, field notes, and data collection is advantageous.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from a recognized program in Geomatics Engineering Technologies, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of previous surveying experience at the Party Chief level is required.
• Proficiency in drafting and use in Microsoft Office is essential.
• Strong working knowledge of survey equipment and software such as GPS and Total Stations.
• Experience with municipal land surveying products and services is essential.
• The capability to work independently as well as in a team and consistently deliver high-quality work.
• A positive work ethic and the ability to adapt to various projects.
• A strong commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
