The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 invites applications for a full-time Mechanic. This position is responsible for trouble shooting, servicing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of equipment ranging from graders, packers, crawler dozers, excavators, highway tractors, passenger vehicles, and ATVs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Diagnose irregularities or malfunctions to determine the extent of repair required.
• Provide technical information and recommend any major repairs.
• Adjust equipment and repair/replace defective parts, components, or systems.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure they meet manufacturer specifications.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work.
• Maintain appropriate work records on each unit.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the work environment.
• Maintain and operate Municipal equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Follow all safety procedures as outlined in the M.D. Safety Manual and all other policies and procedures.
• Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation.
• Perform other related duties within the scope of the position as required.
• Promote a safe and positive attitude amongst coworkers.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic.
• Mechanical ability and manual dexterity.
• Ability to effectively troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to remain current with new and improved technologies.
• Ability to work in a responsible, independent, and proactive manner.
• Ability to collaborate with members of a team.
• Ability to effectively use computers/diagnostic equipment.
• A valid Commercial Vehicle Inspection License will be considered an asset.
• Class 3 driver’s license with airbrake endorsement (Q) will be considered an asset.

NOVA Mechanical Systems Ltd. is looking for a Journeyman Plumber to join our Service Department that is dedicated to providing quality work to our customers. This individual will be providing service in the Bonnyville and Cold Lake region.

Responsibilities:

• Providing plumbing service for both residential and commercial projects
• Maintain and service heating units and components
• Respond to gas leak(s) and perform detection
• Test and replace defective equipment
• Secure pipes or related equipment, by welding, brazing, soldering, or threading joints, dependent on specifications
• Tend to the maintenance and preventative maintenance programs, including cleaning of all plumbing and gas equipment
• Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
• Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniques

Qualifications

• Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter preferred, experienced 3rd or 4th year apprentice will be considered
• Residential and commercial plumbing experience required
• Preferred 5 years' experience as a Journeyman Plumber or skilled in plumbing and heating service work
• Possess a valid driver's license with acceptable drivers abstract
• Ability to work independently in a busy environment
• Experience with routine maintenance operations
• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allows one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
