Nova Excavating & Equipment o/a RPM Contracting is a trusted name in underground utility installation and site development, specializing in excavation, directional drilling, power and gas installs, plowing, and trenching. We’re looking for reliable, hardworking individuals to join our growing team.

Position Summary:

We are seeking motivated Underground Utility Labourers to assist with the installation of water and sewer lines, power and gas utilities, trenching, backfilling, and supporting directional drilling and power installation operations. This is a physically demanding role that requires teamwork, attention to safety, and a strong work ethic. This position will be for work in the Bonnyville and Cold Lake area and occasionally out of town.

Key Responsibilities:

*Prep and clean job sites

*Operate hand and power tools

*Load and unload equipment and materials

*Assist with hydro-vac operations

*Assist with installation of water and sewer lines

*Support directional drilling crews with setup, mud mixing, and pipe handling

*Assist with power and gas installs, including fusing and pipe preparation

*Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively

*Support equipment operators with trenching, grading, and backfilling

*Maintain a clean and safe worksite

*Follow safety protocols and company procedures

*Perform manual labour including lifting, shoveling, and raking

Work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Qualifications:

*Previous experience in underground utilities, directional drilling, or construction preferred

*Experience with gas line fusing is an asset

*Ability to operate small equipment (e.g., plate compactors, saws, etc.)

*Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

*Safety certifications (e.g., CSTS/CSO, First Aid, Ground Disturbance, H2S) are an asset

*Physically fit and able to work long hours, including weekends if required

*Strong communication and teamwork skills

Safety Requirements:

This is a safety sensitive position. Employment is conditional upon passing preemployment drug and alcohol testing, with ongoing and/or testing as required per NOVA RPM's D&A Policy.
